This is my beautiful mother! She is a realtor with Royal Lepage here in London, Ontario and I had the honour of photographing her. The excuse was technically “headshots” – she needed to order signs and business cards, and a representative photo to match. But I was happy to have her in front of my camera so I could have beautiful pictures of my beautiful mother. As I took her photos and tried to portray the friendly, caring and approachable person that she is, it got me thinking about how important the images you pick to represent yourself really are.
With the role social media plays in businesses today, it’s increasingly more important to have professional quality headshots. Not only are you still passing out your business cards to potential clients, you are also representing yourself on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. Have you been thinking about what image best represents you as a high-standard, respectable professional?
You (and your business) deserve the best photographs – an image you will feel comfortable putting on your Facebook and website. They say it takes under a second to make a first impression. So when a potential client comes to your site, and sees your picture, what kind of impression is your headshot making?
