I’m Rachel and I take pictures.
In 2011 I graduated from university with a degree in English Literature in one hand and a plane ticket to Japan in the other. My love for telling stories, which began in childhood when I used to write my own plays and force my younger sister to act them out with me, had expanded and evolved into a love of travel, connecting, and sharing.
From 2011 to 2014 I lived and worked in Japan, travelled Asia, and blogged and photographed my entire adventure – all loves and frustrations. Photography became an important part of my story telling process. I brought my camera everywhere and loved documenting both the perfect and imperfect aspects of life around me –
This was the best way to share my life in Japan with my friends and family back home.
Since returning to Canada in the summer of 2014, I haven’t put my camera down. I believe in the power of photography – for your friends, your family, and for yourself. Photographs are powerful and one of the most important tools in telling our story to the world.
